Exterior & Interior Architectural Design
This complete first-floor renovation transformed a compartmentalized layout into a fluid, connected living environment. Stripped to the studs, the original disconnected rooms were reorganized through large openings and strategic massing that accommodates essential functions like appliance nooks and storage. The new layout establishes visual connections from front door to back, linking the kitchen off the rear porch to the front living room with its expansive windows facing the yard and neighborhood. Interior designer Sarah Graham enhanced these newly created thresholds with wall-mounted antique sliding doors, providing sound privacy and closure when needed while maintaining visual continuity and maximizing natural light. The result is a home that flows beautifully from space to space while preserving the individual character and function of each room.
